logo for the 2016 Golden Globe AwardsOh boy, after a three-year hiatus Rick Gervais returned to host the 2016 Golden Globe Awards. Live from the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, with a beer on the podium, Ricky told the audience “Shut up you disgusting, pill-popping, sexual deviant scum.” Great start, huh.

But he also told them to, “Relax I’m going to try and be nice.” “I’m going to be nice tonight I’ve changed, but not as much as Bruce Jenner.”

He complimented Catlin Jenner on becoming a role model, but said, “She didn’t do a lot for women drivers.”

He also spoke on equal pay for women and said, “Of course women should be paid the same as men.” “I am getting paid the same as Tina Fey and Amy Poehler,” and said if they want to share it that’s their problem. Followed by, “Shut up I don’t care.”

73rd Annual Golden Globe Awards

Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill were the first presenters. Channing said Jonah was not there and his substitute was the bear from The Revenant. But it was actually Jonah in a lame bear hood. Ricky came back to introduce Mel Gibson and said he said a few unsavory things about him last time, and now he’s in the awkward position of introducing him again. He said he wanted to say something nice about Mel this time. So he said, “I’d rather have a drink with him in his hotel room tonight than Bill Cosby.” Mel came out and gave him a hung anyway and said, “I love seeing Ricky every three years because it reminds me to get a colonoscopy.”

Ricky came back to respond, but it was completely censored. It must have been a dozy, because some members of the audience had their hands over their mouths in shock.
